Tippy Schwabe Grant

Starting in 2007, at the request of and with funding from Gwendolyn T. Schwabe, past president of CATESOL, founder of the ESL Program at UC Davis, and known to all as Tippy, UC Davis MA and PhD candidates participated in CATESOL activities to become better prepared for the world of TESOL while they were still in graduate school. Grantees received a two-year membership to CATESOL and had their registration fees paid for regional, chapter, and annual conferences while being mentored by competent university professors. They were also encouraged to volunteer at CATESOL events and to present.

As UC Davis has closed their MA in TESOL program, the Tippy Schwabe Grant is now subsumed under the Regional Stipends earmarked for the CATESOL Northern Regional conferences.
