Gordon Johnson Memorial Grant

Gordon Johnson valued the creativity demonstrated by many ESL instructors. He served as an ESL editor and  sales representative over the course of his forty-year career. This mini-grant was created in his honor to support the development of innovative ESL materials. It is designed to honor a creative teacher whose lesson plan takes a bit of time to develop.  Our foundation would love the share the idea in the CATESOL News when finished.

Grant Amount:
$300 will be awarded to the recipient at the Thursday night plenary at the annual CATESOL conference on October 19, 2017, in Santa Clara, CA. There will be $150 awarded initially, and after the acceptance of the final report, the remaining $150 will be sent. The winner should be present to accept the award.

Eligibility:
•  ESL teachers who instruct ESL at any age level
•  Residents of California or Nevada and a member of CATESOL
